Building steps to a prosperous future, this quarter encapsulates our growth as a social incubator. We were able to successfully conduct the Hatchery cycle and complete the soft launch of our accelerator program. SIL was also able to forge key partnerships organizations working in the same domain to foster our cause and help our incubatees get direct access to funding to kick start their ventures.

Our program thrives on the feedback that we get from our mentors and incubatees throughout the cycle. This feedback helps us re-organize and amend the curriculum to make it more suitable and beneficial for our audience. Thus, the Hatchery cycle was conducted with a revised curriculum that took a more practical approach to learning. As a result of this, 7 out of 10 social enterprises that we took in this cycle have either piloted or launched their startup.

We were able to apply for and reach the final round of two grant applications worth $700K for the social enterprises in our accelerator program. Another key development was bringing CresVentures on board which will enable us to directly push suitable social enterprises that have graduated for seed funding.

The coverage of SIL enterprises by the film makers What Took You So Long? , IDG Media group and have helped us promote our graduates and their social work to a national and international audience. This has proved to be quite encouraging for these young minds and motivated them to continue their efforts for a more equitable future. These partnerships have also helped potential partners to reach out to our graduates so they can scale their projects in other geographical areas and inspired many others to start their own social ventures.
