SEE have had some set backs this year in having access to a continuous cash flow to implement activities. However despite the turbulence of disbursement delays and university restructuring, the East African team, remain positive. They have had time to foresee future challenges and made some adjustments. SEE partners are looking forward to meeting with each other in August 2014, and with the larger YEPI 8 and global leaders conference in December 2014. They are also looking forward to hosting their YEPI partners from Minnesota and Tufts hopefully in September/October 2014.
While there are challenges in implementing activities across 4 partner universities simultaneously, being in a multi-institutional partnership can have advantages as a weakness in one can be assisted by another, as the University of Nairobi steps in to assist Rwanda to purchase their ice cream machine. The Rwanda team will also be available to assist the Uganda partners to catch up after some delays in funding disbursements there. Tanzania was also instrumental in sharing their experiences in the certification of short courses. The team, look forward to meeting again in August where they can share their experiences and resolutions further.
